UPDATED: SFIV Championship mode coming out in 2 weeks! or so says IGN


According to IGN, the Street Fighter IV first expansion pack, dubbed Championship mode, is due to release next week on March 31st.

Wether this is tru or not, time will tell, since Capcom did not announce a release date for this free expansion pack.

For those of you not sure what is included in the Cahmpionship mode here is a list:

Replay Mode -- Record, upload, and download top matches to share with the Street Fighter IV community. Players can analyze top tiered fighters matches, leave voter feedback for others, and share their own triumphant victories.

New Points System -- Two new points systems to measure your skill (Championship and Tournament Points)

Enhanced Tournament Matching System -- Skill level matching system offers improved tournament match making for beginners and mid-level players. Competitors earn Grade Points (GP) to earn entry into more advanced tournaments.

UPDATE: According to Seth Killian, the dat IGN mentioned is just their guess, so here is what Seth has to say: " The date of the patch from IGN is not based on any official information from Capcom--most sites also like to make guesses about game release dates in advance of actual announcement, but they are just guessing, not reporting. "

    where the fudge is the lobby system, sf4 fans generally agreed that the most important aspect on sf4 should be the online mode, and whilst it is a great game.

    I think many would agree the online function could be better.

    I cant think of a stronger fan community, so I believe SF4 should be about community and groups like this blog.

    More than 1 person in a lobby would be ideal, hell its most be the online reason DOA was successful online.

    Well I hope they fix some of those bugs in the game before releasing this new mode. Other wise the mode fails and the winners will be the ones that cheat their ass off the most.

    Will this mode allow for a lobby full of people to play in a tournament together where you can watch each others matches, I think they did this in dead or alive ultimate

    I mean come on. its in hd remix why the hell not sf4?

    I was amazed that they didn't have that. I was looking forward to grouping up with my friends and having some matches that we could ALL watch and ENJOY!
