The Street Fighter Blog Reviews Street Fighter Legends: Chunli #2

The Second Issue of the Street Fighter Legends : Chun-li  4 issues mini series was released last Wednesday. The comic is as usual drawn by Omar dogan and scripted by Ken Sui Chong. Be advised that the following review contains some Spoilers!

The Story: the Second issue of the mini series focuses on Chun-li as she trains with her friend Po lin at the police academy. The book also showcase one the most famous fights in SF history: Sagat vs Go Hibiki (Dan’s father), where Sagat lost his eye. This fight while famous within the Sf mythos, has never been portrayed before in any Sf Media. We also get to see a somewhat serious Dan and really nice cameo of Gen wearing his SFIV attire.

As it was the case to the first issue, Sf Legends: Chun-li #2 has a really good pace to it and the story flows naturally. Ken Sui Chong really knows this characters by heart and gives each one of them their own unique personality. My only complain about this issue is how weak Go Hibiki was portrayed since he really did not do much in the fight besides taking Sagat’s eye.

The Art: Omar Dogan is at his best in this series. Like Issue 1, Omar draws the SF characters in a very anime/manga style in this second issue making the readers who are used to the Udon anime style feel right at home.

Closing Comment: Street Fighter Legends Chun-li  series is one of the best Street Fighter Mini series ever made, and its second issue is no exception. The story is very intriguing and interesting and the Art is amazing. If you haven’t picked up issue 1 or 2 yet I suggest you do so ASAP.

Final Score: 9/10
