Well cheap strategies like using Ryu Hadoken to keep the opponet as far away so the only thing a player can do is jump which since they disabled air block its a step up for a cheap Shouryuken.
How is that cheap? From what you described Gamer K it sounds like a strategy. And since you know it so well, you should be able to deal with it. I can't believe you said that is cheap lol.
Yeah, how the hell is that cheap, its called zoning! And if you can actually play SFIV, you would know you can easily get through that by using FADC to go through the hadoukens. Thats why you dont see so called "cheap strategies", not because they dont want to be labeled "cheap" but because the other person can deal with it easily
Zoning my flickled minded friends is a cheap strategy. Sure with some charcters you can counter or use FADC but as you seen in the video there was none of that zoning bullshit. Why not? Because its a cheap strategy and no one will want to play someone that needs to do zoning as a straegy in order to win. Also for the record I do play SF4.
Sorry if this sounds mean man, but I really dislike people who complain about other people playing within rules DEFINED by the game. Honestly if something is TRULY cheap then it WILL be banned in tournaments.
Your statement saying that it is cheap is equivalent to saying:
You only beat me because you did move x, if you don't do move x then I could beat you.
So instead of coming up with a counter to get around move x you put the blame on the other person and ask him to not do move x so you can win.
You go on to say:
"Well cheap strategies like using Ryu Hadoken to keep the opponet as far away so the only thing a player can do is jump which since they disabled air block its a step up for a cheap Shouryuken."
You are putting limits on your ability to deal with things. You have already said in your mind that "so the only thing a player can do is jump which since"....when in reality you can FADC.
Gamer K I hope you get past this whole "cheapness" stuff
Well to answer anonymous question. Im a throwing guy. You get too close and I will throw you like no tommorow. However, there is a tech to stop a succession of reapeating throws not a problem. Now on to Oblique. First off your comments is failure. Why? Either you are the type that does these cheap stratiges or you dont wanna admit the game is flawed.
Gamer K How can you say that zoning with fireballs is cheap? Every character has the tools to get around and even punish fireball traps. SF4 is one of the most balanced games ever, and fireballs are far from a flaw. Seriously dude read sirlins article that oblique posted, it will change your thinking on this whole "cheap" thing.
And if your referring to the video match and saying that no "cheap strategies" (AKA zoning) are being used, thats because the Ryu player is smart enough to realize that Balrog has too many ways to punish him for carelessly spamming fireballs. Trust me man, I play Rog all the time and I destroy anyone who gets to "fireball happy" by headbutting or Turn punching straight through em.
the game is definitely flawed but not because of zoning. Let me repeat this, if something is truly cheap then it will be banned at a tournament. You will never see zoning banned, because it is not cheap. You are coming off as a whiner lol
Why does every character need a tool to combat zoning? If zoning isnt a problem then there wouldnt be a need for such tools now would there? Parry solved that zoning problem before and Alpa with its air blocks. People who cheat get banned from tournaments "HA HA HA" I say. You call me the whiner but its you coming in pairs or groups to defend SF4 from people who see the game as a de-evolution instead of a revolution that you see.
Gamer K, im sorry but everything you type is making you seem more stupid.
"Why does every character need a tool to combat zoning? If zoning isnt a problem then there wouldnt be a need for such tools now would there?"
"Im a throwing guy. You get too close and I will throw you like no tommorow. However, there is a tech to stop a succession of reapeating throws not a problem."
So basically your contradicting yourself like this
"Why does every character need a tool to combat throws? If throwing isnt a problem then there wouldnt be a need for such tools now would there (teching)?"
There are things such as recovery from fireballs, focus attacks to go through fireballs, characters that have moves that go over/under/through fireballs. What you are saying is really null and void.
Saying zoning is cheap is like saying "dont use tactics and just jump in and mash buttons"
Ohhh the irony of some of you makes me laugh.Only those that truly ignorant lower themselves to such childish things such as name calling. You say my words contradict themselves, yet you proved my point about how many tools or techs are needed to aviod repeated fireballs, sonic booms or any other projectiles. If it was up to me these would be ultra moves only. But its not so it doesnt matter. We all agree the game is flawed its only in our opinions how we see these flaws. True is the words that you cant please everyone and there will always be arguments. Lets find out what happends in 15 years when Sf5 comes out.
in the gootecks video it shows that you can use focus to absorb fireballs and build ultra. balrog can also dash punch or super through them for easy damage. he can even use a neutral attack in air to control his movement and safely move toward the opponent.
fireballs are your worst option against a good Balrog :/

the post above this one is mine too, I just forgot to put my name on it sorry.

First off I never said anything about sf4 being a revolution. And I actually have a lot of issues with the game even though I still like it.
I even liked sirlin's whole post on street fighter 4:

Enough talk lets fight in Street Fighter 4
