Anyway, i am a fan of Akiman's work on sf2, for those of you who dont know who Akiman is he is the designer of street fighter 2. So i decided to takek a sf4 screenshot of ryu and try to make him look more sf2 ish.
beware though i only used Ms paint as i did not have access to photoshop at work. check out the difference:

things ive done:
- reduced the size of his puffy lips, so now he looks less like angelina jolie
- Fixed the chin a bit
- gave him more hair a la sf2 animated movie.
What do you guys think :-D

Honestly I don't know what the fuss is about with Ryu... he looks like the akiman drawing of him...

The SF2 Animated look is great, no doubt... but this is any older Ryu..more seasoned vet... he is looking more like his SF3 portrayal as it's getting there.
Ryu looks fine...My two cents anyways.
You should leave that to photoshop experts.
looks better than the ryu we are getting for street fighter IV. would have looked better if it was done using photoshop i guess. still i wish capcom would listen and make him look like sfII
Ryu looks great in SFIV, very manly (like in SF3), there is absolutely no need to remodel his face

SFIV ryu is perfect as he is he looks older like every1 says in honestly if dey made him wit more hair it wuld look funny so leave him as he is n let him be b/c he looks awesome and stickes 2 his design

Ken's hair is the only thing needing a retouch.
